Guest, Speaker, Performer Bios - Jayashree Rao

Dr Jayashree Rao has been teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology for over 30 years. She also has a clinical practice treating children and adolescents with chronic and rare disorders of endocrine glands. She has been leading courses in Mindfulness in Wellness and Illness with embodied teaching of concepts rooted in Buddhism and guiding people through meditations in various settings.

Dr Rao did her Residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology from New York University and Columbia University, New York. She got her MD from Kasturba Medical College and Madras Medical College, Mangalore and Chennai, India. Dr Rao has great interest in hiking and traveling having climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at age 63, Mount Fuji at age 64 and also visited more than sixty countries.
